Last week, the island nation of Seychelles, renowned for its tourism and high GDP per capita, received images and videos of its national monuments aboard the International Space Station via the Russian Orbital Segment (ROS), which is responsible for propulsion, navigation, and primary guidance.
Very recently, one of said videos was released to the public, in which three Russian astronauts (cosmonauts) congratulated the Seychelles on its 50th anniversary, as reported by Sputnik.
Seychelles 50th anniversary commemoration in space
As mentioned earlier, Seychelles on the 29th of June marked its 50th independence anniversary with an exceptional gesture: as the country's national emblems and commemorative items were transported to the International Space Station (ISS).
The Seychelles flag, coat of arms, and a special Independence Day message from the President of the island nation, Patrick Herminie, were among the things sent into space as part of the country's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
