HYROX is gaining momentum across Asia, drawing everyone from elite athletes to first-time competitors into a fast-growing fitness phenomenon. In Bangkok, packed training sessions are preparing participants for a race combining running and functional workouts.
HYROX combines eight one-kilometre runs with eight functional workouts, testing endurance, strength and stamina in a standardized format.
Unlike traditional endurance events, participants complete the same challenges regardless of ability, making performances easy to compare from one race to the next.
For competitors such as Wiphada Chanchana, who is preparing for her first race, the appeal goes beyond fitness.
“I like the community the most actually because I've never trained like this before,” she says, crediting friends and coaches for pushing her during training.
