UAE's Global South Utilities has inaugurated a 50MW solar power complex in the Central African Republic, its largest-ever infrastructure development.

The project, comprising more than 80,000 solar panels, will power over 300,000 homes and cut more than 50,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

The plant is expected to boost the country's electricity generation capacity by more than 60 per cent, supporting healthcare, education and business growth.

Africa, home to nearly 20 per cent of the world's population, continues to face significant challenges in accessing reliable power infrastructure.
