OSOGBO — Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, on Wednesday honoured an invitation from the Osun State Police Command over a controversial comment attributed to him concerning members of the Accord Party ahead of the state governorship election.

Fadahunsi arrived at the police headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital, at about 2pm, following the invitation by the command.

The senator’s invitation followed a widely circulated video in which he was reported to have urged supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party if they were encountered during the electoral process in some parts of the state.

The comment has generated reactions ahead of the August 15 governorship election, amid heightened political activities across the state.

The police command invited the senator to explain his remarks and assist its investigation into the matter.
