Gemini Intelligence comes to Wear OS with the Pixel Watch 5, and there are a number of interesting AI and on-device features.
Part of the Made by Google 2026 announcements, Gemini Intelligence starts with what are now called Proactive Suggestions. This was known as Magic Cue last year, with Google giving it a new “Proactive” name across all platforms. In the Google Messages app, you’ll get one-tap actions.
If someone asks you for a new phone number or location, that information will appear as a reply you can immediately send. It can also be used to set reminders and check your schedule. Your Pixel 11 is responsible for generating these insights, which are then bridged to the watch.
Proactive Suggestions also appear in Google Messages notifications, with Google looking into supporting more apps in the future. Meanwhile, on-device smart replies now show three responses instead of one, with a Gemini Nano model upgrade making things 50% faster.
Gemini Intelligence continues with task automation on your watch face. This lets you start a task, such as food ordering, on your phone and get updates on your watch. You’ll be notified when it’s time to confirm the actual order on your Pixel 11.
