Open-Ear Design for a Secure and Comfortable Fit

While your standard pair of earbuds stay in place by wedging themselves into your ear canal, the open-ear design of the Sony LinkBuds Clip are way more comfortable. They simply clip around the side of your ear and you barely notice you even have them on. They even come with different sized cushions to help them fit ears of all shapes and sizes. I also have deep fear of losing a pair of earbuds while I’m running into a sewer grate, so having the earbuds clip securely into place helps alleviate that anxiety.

With the open ear design, you’ll be better equipped to stay aware of what’s happening in your surroundings as noise from your environment doesn’t get blocked out. However, if you’re just in an office at your desk, you might prefer exactly that. That’s why the Sony LinkBuds Clip support three different listening modes. Standard is good for everyday use while Voice Boost is made for noisy places with Sound Leakage Reduction made for quiet areas. You can swap between modes by just tapping the side of the earbuds.

Battery life is pretty solid here. The earbuds alone are able to support a listening time of up to nine hours. When you add in the time you get from the charging case, you’ll get a total of up to 37 hours. Then if you ever find your battery low right before heading out for the day, you can bring them back up fairly quickly. Just three minutes of charging can refuel them with an extra hour of playback time.
