In 72 Double-A contests before his promotion, Salas was slashing .286/.361/.417 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs. Finally, right-hander Nick Pivetta may be cut loose during the offseason as he continues to spend time on the injured list after making just four starts to begin the season. Due to a setback in his rehab, Pivetta will almost certainly be kept out beyond Aug. 22.The significance of this date is that it triggers a clause in his contract that turns his player option into a team option. This can potentially translate to him losing the final $32 million of his contract over the next two years should San Diego choose to void it.
