MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian nationals liable for military service will be automatically registered with the military when applying for consular services abroad, the Strana news outlet reported, citing new rules for checking the documents of draft-age men, approved by the cabinet.

"Those with no entry in the database will be automatically placed on the military register and a digital military document will be formed," the document reads.

The document authorizes consular services to be provided to men who do not have a military registration document, but only if they "update their personal data by registering with the consulate." Meanwhile, the electronic consular system and military register will be interconnected.

Men will not be required to travel to Ukraine to undergo an examination by a military medical commission. They will be placed on the military register based on their registered address in Ukraine, while those without one will be processed by a local recruitment office designated by the General Staff.

The media outlet pointed out that, under the new regulation, information on conscripts, those liable for military service and reservists would be stored in the digital register throughout their period of military registration and for 75 years thereafter.
