S&P 500 futures climbed 0.3% and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.7% before the morning's consumer price index release

U.S. stock futures edged higher on Wednesday as investors waited for July's consumer price index report, which is expected to shape what the Federal Reserve does at its September meeting.

S&P 500 futures were up 0.3% and Nasdaq $NDAQ 100 futures were 0.7% higher. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 67 points, or 0.1%. The Bureau of Labor Statistics was scheduled to release the CPI data at 8:30 a.m. ET.
