The Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp Basic is the entry-level model in Govee’s line of smart lamps, and it stands 54 inches high. Its aluminum construction has been designed to fit snugly in a corner, so you don’t lose nearly as much space as you would with a traditional floor lamp. RGBIC technology lets this product display multiple colors simultaneously via segmented LEDs, while ordinary multi-color smart lamps use an entire array of LED lights to turn one solid color. Along with providing enough output to light a small room on its own at 1000 lumens, the device can be controlled through the Govee Home app, Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant.

Most color-changing lamps give you one color across the whole fixture, so picking blue means the entire lamp turns blue. The segments in this one work independently, which lets the column run a gradient from warm orange at the bottom to deep purple at the top, or a flame effect that ripples upward, or two team colors split down the middle on game day. A diffuser over the LEDs softens the individual points so what you see is a smooth column of color rather than a row of bulbs.
The Govee Home app is where you will build everything, and it has a bunch of pre-made scene options if you do not want to create your own. In DIY mode, you use your finger to color each segment by moving it along the lamp’s display on the screen, and 16 million different colors are available. Scheduling and timers are also in the app, so the light can turn on before you get home rather than after you unlock your phone.
