Mark Warner (D-Va.) said Congress must act quickly to manage artificial intelligence’s economic and security risks while ensuring the U.S. remains ahead of global competitors.

Warner Pushes Congress to Act on AI On Tuesday, in a post on X, Warner said AI’s rapid development cannot simply be reversed and urged lawmakers to focus on policies that address its risks while preserving America’s technological edge.

"We can’t put AI back in the bottle," Warner said.

He added, "So each and every week in Congress, I’m laser-focused on passing real solutions that help us protect jobs, safeguard our national security, and outcompete our adversaries." We can’t put AI back in the bottle.
