30 hours' free childcare
Parents of children aged nine months to four years old in England may be entitled to 15 to 30 hours a week free childcare. These hours are usually taken over 38 weeks, to cover term time, but you can normally spread them out to cover school breaks by using fewer hours a week.
To get the full 30 hours a week, parents each have to earn the equivalent of minimum wage for 16 hours a week on average, but less than £100,000. Parents of three and four year olds get 15 hours a week free childcare as standard, regardless of if they are in work. If your child is two, you can get 15 hours a week if you claim certain benefits.
