Anton Bobrovskyi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Training Company at the 199th Training Center of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces

Captain Anton Bobrovskyi joined the 199th Training Center of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces from the 80th Separate Galician Air Assault Brigade to pass on the combat experience he had gained on the battlefield. He now commands a company responsible for training unmanned systems specialists.

In an interview with Ukrinform, Bobrovskyi spoke about how unmanned systems specialists are trained for the Air Assault Forces, what skills from civilian life can help someone become a successful FPV drone operator, why Ukraine now has the edge in the use of UAVs, and the future of ground robotic systems.

Ukrinform (UI): How do servicemen come to you for training – as part of their basic general military training, or are they sent by their brigades?

Anton Bobrovskyi (AB): These are the two main ways personnel come to us. The first involves servicemen with combat experience who have been transferred to unmanned systems units or assigned to them after completing basic general military training (BGMT).
