Ukraine has handed the US concrete proposals aimed at ending Russia’s war, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday, Aug. 11, while stressing that diplomacy must be backed by stronger Ukrainian defenses and increased pressure on Moscow. “There was a report from our negotiating team. Zelensky did not disclose the contents of the proposals. The statement comes as Washington continues efforts to revive negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner expected to engage both Kyiv and Moscow. Ukraine has repeatedly said it is ready for negotiations and an unconditional ceasefire, while insisting that any peace deal must be backed by credible security guarantees. “America can help strengthen our defense, first and foremost through air defense,” Zelensky said.
