Trinidad and Tobago’s “Young Divas” maintained their winning ways in the third round of the CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Women’s Championship, yesterday.At the Liberta Sports Club, in St John’s, Antigua, T&T thrashed their Windward Islands counterparts by ten wickets, skittling out the opposition for a meagre 52 in 19.4 overs.For T&T, Samara Ramnath once again proved the thorn in the opposition’s side, bagging four for 10 as just two batters reached double figures. The “Young Divas” made a short work of the straightforward task, reaching 53 without loss in just 6.3 overs.Player of the Match Ramnath also starred with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 27 while opening partner Amrita Ramtahal supported to finish on 18 not out, in sealing their most emphatic win yet with three wins in as many matches in the tournament.Jamaica rally to best GuyanaMeanwhile, at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Jamaica bounced back from a mid-innings wobble to secure their second straight win, edging out Guyana by 21 runs in a tense affair.Batting first, the Jamaicans posted 103 all out in 19.4 overs. Sashane Ricketts top-scored with 22, while Shamara Hall (retired hurt) and Zariah Blair contributed 13 runs each. Danellie Manns was the pick of the Guyanese bowlers, finishing with tidy figures of 2-11.In reply, Guyana’s chase never quite gained the required momentum, despite a decent start. Akeela Stephen fought valiantly with 18, and Sarah Bheir added 12, but the Jamaican attack proved too disciplined. Neveah Webley led the wicket-takers with 3-19, ensuring Guyana were restricted to 82 all out in 17.2 overs.Brathwaite hits unbeaten 135And the day’s other fixture saw the Barbados girls record a resounding 90-run victory over the Leeward Islands at the same venue.Barbadian opener Eboni Brathwaite was the undisputed star, carving a magnificent unbeaten 135 to propel her side to a mammoth 262-2 in their 20 overs. Zaniyah Bruce remained not out on 20 alongside her.Faced with a daunting target, the Leewards managed a respectable 116-3 in reply, with Zara Skerritt hitting an unbeaten 37 and Innka Wilson 28, but they were always well adrift of the required run rate.
