Since taking over, Chill and the company’s executive leadership team have narrowed the firm’s focus to fewer, higher-conviction investments, launched a review and monetization plan for its existing portfolio and begun reshaping workflows around AI-driven investing and asset management. The leadership change also comes shortly after one of the company’s largest portfolio exits. Earlier this month, Visa announced an agreement to acquire BioCatch in a transaction reportedly valued at $2.4 billion. OurCrowd was an early investor in BioCatch and continued investing as the company grew. The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close by the end of Visa’s fiscal second quarter of 2027.“OurCrowd was founded to bring institutional-grade access and rigor to individual accredited investors,” Chill said. “We don’t assume access; we earn it through years of building our trusted network and disciplined diligence on every deal.”He said his focus would be on scaling that investment discipline while maintaining the level of responsibility and returns expected by investors.“I am honored to lead the firm forward,” Chill said.OurCrowd Chairman Ben Plotkin said the board had been encouraged by the company’s performance since Chill assumed operational control.“I am very pleased with the company’s progress and accomplishments over the past several quarters,” Plotkin said. “Since Cali took charge of the operation, the firm has been managed with increasing financial discipline and operational focus.”Plotkin said the board has “full confidence” in Chill’s ability to lead OurCrowd through its next phase.Chill joined OurCrowd as general counsel and later became chief legal officer. He subsequently served as head of funds and chief legal officer, overseeing both in-house and third-party investment funds. He later became chief investment officer and chairman of OurCrowd’s investment committee, giving him direct oversight of the firm’s deal flow before moving into the acting CEO and COO roles. Before joining OurCrowd, Chill served as general counsel of Nasdaq-listed Answers Corporation and of AFCV Holdings, a private-equity-backed technology investor. He holds a joint law and MBA degree from Bar-Ilan University and is licensed to practice law in Israel and New York.Founded in 2013, OurCrowd provides accredited investors with access to private-market and venture capital opportunities. The company says it has raised more than $2.6 billion in commitments across more than 500 portfolio companies and dozens of funds, with 73 exits to date.OurCrowd is headquartered in Jerusalem and has offices in Tel Aviv and Toronto.
