A Russian drone struck a residential home in Kherson overnight, killing a woman inside, Ukrainian authorities reported early Wednesday, Aug. 12. Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, said the woman suffered fatal injuries after Russian forces directed a UAV at her home.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “During the night, Russian terrorists took the life of another Kherson resident,” Shanko wrote on Telegram. “The woman suffered injuries incompatible with life in her own home, which the occupiers targeted with a UAV.” Authorities were still working to establish the victim’s identity. The deadly strike came as Russia launched overnight drone attacks against other parts of Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia, a fire broke out at a shopping center after a Russian strike on the city, according to local authorities. Three people were also reported injured in Russian drone attacks elsewhere in the Zaporizhzhia district. Kherson, which sits close to Russian-held territory across the Dnipro River, has faced relentless Russian drone and artillery attacks on residential neighborhoods and civilians.
