The Industry Newspaper has appointed Yomi Otubela, an entrepreneur and educationist, as chairman of its 2026 Companies of Impact project, an annual recognition of Nigerian businesses contributing to economic growth and national development.

The 2026 edition, themed ‘Building Resilience, Driving Growth: Nigerian Companies Shaping the Next Decade,’ will recognise companies for their contributions to resilience, innovation, job creation and development across key sectors of the economy.

The project will be unveiled at an awards and networking luncheon scheduled for 21 August 2026, at Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lagooz Schools, Otubela brings experience in entrepreneurship and education to the initiative.

Under his leadership, Lagooz Schools has focused on curriculum development, technology integration and talent development, while Otubela has advocated greater private-sector participation in education and policies supporting businesses and human-capital development.
