South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Seoul will continue to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid only, but does not plan to supply lethal weapons or air defense systems, despite requests from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky amid the North Korean deployment of new troops to Russia.

“South Korea’s supply of defense materials to any country has always been carried out in accordance with domestic law,” said a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As the publication notes, the government is maintaining a cautious stance regarding Ukraine’s request for air defense support and other military needs, a senior government official stated on Monday, following statements by Ukrainian officials that North Korea is preparing to send more troops to support Russia in the war against Ukraine.
South Korea adheres to a policy of providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine while refraining from supplying lethal weapons.
