Kristina Kelly had experience with reality television on Vanderpump Rules, but joining Hulu’s new Stassi Schroeder-led series House of Stassi was a different ballpark.
“I was basically an extra on Vanderpump Rules. Let’s be real,” Kelly tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Stassi was just so excited about [House of Stassi] that it made me feel like, OK, I need to have a bigger role in this.”
Kelly popped up numerous times during the early days of the Bravo series, re-emerging during its now infamous 10th season in support of Katie Maloney. Kelly’s cameo on Vanderpump season 10, which led to a shifty friendship dynamic, is addressed on House of Stassi, with the new reality series they now star on also playing into the cracks of their friendship.
Kelly was surprised when Schroeder brought Maloney back into the mix for House of Stassi, and was shocked by a comment she made about Schroder’s inner circle. “It’s like if, I don’t know, they didn’t come out of you or they’re not married to you or they’re not on your fucking payroll, they don’t get to be in your life,” Maloney said, which eventually got back to Kelly, who was not happy with the word “payroll” being used.
