Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE:CMG) stock traded lower Tuesday as a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños continued to draw attention.
Chipotle Pulled Affected Jalapeños
Of 191 people interviewed, 177, or 93%, reported eating at a Mexican-style restaurant before becoming ill, including Chipotle and QDOBA locations.
Chipotle received jalapeños imported by Coast Citrus from Sinaloa and began switching suppliers at affected restaurants on July 20. The company is no longer serving the affected product.
The FDA said it does not consider there to be a current ongoing risk to consumers at Chipotle or QDOBA after the restaurants removed the affected products.
