Kalvin Phillips has rejoined Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City.The 31-time England international played three games on loan at the Championship club after a loan deal in the winter window. A red card against rivals Sheffield Wednesday brought a three-game ban, before a knee injury ruled him out of the remainder of the campaign.“This was the move I wanted,” Phillips said upon the move being completed. “My time was spoiled by my last game and the injury after that so I’m here to put that right.”

He made 10 appearances for the east London club before making another loan move to Ipswich Town later that year.Phillips made 22 appearances for Ipswich but was unable to help the team avoid relegation to the Championship and returned to Portman Road following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. In September 2025, he made his first City appearance in 645 days, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield Town.A product of Leeds’ academy, Phillips made his senior debut in April 2015 and went on appear 234 times for the club, recording 14 goals and 13 assists. He helped the side return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years when they secured promotion in the 2019-20 season.He made his England debut in September 2020 and started every game of England’s run to the final of the European Championships the following year. He has not featured at international level since 2023.
