Aug. 11 (UPI) -- An Asian water monitor lizard was safely reunited with its owner after nearly a month on the loose in a Tennessee neighborhood.
Bedford County Animal Control captured the large lizard Friday on Spring Street in Wartrace and posted a photo to social media in the hopes of finding the reptile's owner.
The Bedford County Sheriff's Office said the owner was identified and safely reunited with the pet.
The water monitor turned out to have escaped July 20 from its home on Spring Street, about half a mile from where it was later captured.
