Suryalanka Beach is poised to emerge as a major tourism destination with ₹97.52 crore sanctioned under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 for infrastructure development, Twenty Points Programme Implementation Chairman Lanka Dinakar said on Tuesday.Addressing a review meeting at the Bapatla District Collectorate, Mr. Dinakar said six of the seven identified tourism works were already under way. The works included walking and cycling tracks, landscaping, lighting, surveillance and sanitation facilities, restaurants, parking, boating facilities and other beach amenities.He said tourism projects involving ITC, Radisson, Royal Orchid, Lemon Tree and Novotel were expected to attract investments of about ₹65.42 crore and create 1,135 jobs.Bapatla District Collector V. Vinod Kumar and Chirala MLA M.M. Kondaiah attended the meeting.Mr. Dinakar said Bapatla should emerge as a front-runner in education, healthcare, agriculture and tourism by aligning its development with the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047 and Swarna Andhra Pradesh @2047.
