A warehouse fire near Paris Charles de Gaulle airport forced the closure of two runways on Tuesday, though air traffic remained unaffected.
The blaze broke out at 3pm in Louvres, north of Paris, at a storage facility housing dozens of vehicles belonging to travellers.
Some 80 firefighters and 38 fire engines were deployed to tackle the fire, which was visible from parts of the French capital.
The fire prompted a suburban train station closure and bus diversions, while smoke spread across several kilometres, affecting neighbouring municipalities.
