Throughout school, I was taught to revere our Constitution and that the United States is an exceptional nation. The Constitution’s preamble alone was revolutionary for the 18th century and established the U.S. as the torchbearer of the free world. But somewhere along the way, tens of thousands failed their civics classes and came to despise the U.S.Plagued by an anti-American sentiment and corrupt ideas, they now believe the best course of action is to overthrow the Constitution in the name of their self-righteous hubris. Rightfully, these socialists and other extremists were formerly persona non grata in political circles, but now that socialism has rooted its pathogenic ideas into enough of the public’s mind, prominent voices are calling for the destruction of the Constitution. The Democratic Socialists of America’s extremist-ridden 2026 platform outlines a plan to institute a “Working-class democracy,” but nothing about its political scheme is democratic. The DSA explicitly calls to “Abolish the Electoral College. Replace the president and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.” Abolishing the Electoral College and subordinating the executive and judicial branches to the legislative branch is a horrendous decision that would set into motion the destruction of hundreds of years of a stable constitutional republic. In place of the stable American Republic, their deranged concept of a working-class democracy would be an insane, unimpeded sham republic, with the sole purpose of their new “democracy” being to upend the Constitution and the nation it built.
The DSA isn't hiding it anymore: It wants to burn the constitution
The Democratic Socialists of America platform threatens to dismantle the Constitution and destroy our constitutional republic.
