Last night, the enemy launched a ballistic strike on an industrial site in Zaporizhzhia; the Zaporizhstal steel mill was hit, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Operations at the plant have been temporarily suspended.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Metinvest’s press service.

“The ballistic strike caught workers on their way to shelters immediately after the alarm was sounded. Unfortunately, this terrorist attack claimed the lives of seven members of the Zaporizhstal team. Their deaths are a great loss for their families, loved ones, and all of us. Additionally, 21 of our colleagues were wounded. We are providing them with all necessary assistance and support,” the statement reads.

It is noted that as a result of the enemy attack, power facilities and infrastructure at Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia enterprises were damaged, as were the main and auxiliary facilities of the coke and blast furnace operations.

“Currently, operations at the steel mill have been completely halted, while other production sites are operating at reduced capacity. Experts are assessing the consequences of the enemy attack, the possibilities and timeline for recovery, and are carrying out the necessary emergency repair work,” the statement reads.
