Police arrested three devotees who were found carrying 20 liquor bottles to Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple inside Kalakkad – Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) on Monday.As Aadi Amavasai is being celebrated at Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple near Papanasam dam inside the KMTR, the devotees have been asked not to carry liquor, banned drugs and tobacco products to the temple. Since the devotees would stay inside the forest during the celebrations, Forest and Police Department personnel would frisk them for these banned substances and liquor.When they checked the belongings of three persons on Monday even as they were travelling on a bus going to the temple, the police seized 20 bottles of liquor from them.
