A software flaw in the 7-inch combination meter can disable turn signals, hazard lights, and seat belt warning chimes

Toyota $TM is recalling approximately 508,000 vehicles in the U.S. after a dashboard display defect in certain 2025 and 2026 Camry models was found to increase the risk of a crash or injury, the company said.
At the center of the recall is a faulty 7-inch combination meter — the instrument display mounted behind the steering wheel — which Toyota says can fail to illuminate when the vehicle is started. When the display fails, it can also deactivate turn signals, hazard lamps, and warning chimes including the seat belt reminder and smart key alert. Toyota said the failure puts affected vehicles out of compliance with applicable federal safety requirements.
