Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said he does not expect additional American tanker aircraft to arrive at Bulgaria's Bezmer air base in the near future, with two US planes currently stationed there and conducting training flights.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the Yambol region, Stoyanov said the situation around the airfield remained calm, with the aircraft operating only toward the northern and northwestern areas. He said there had been no violations or incidents in the airport's vicinity.

"For now, the assurance from the American side is that they have stopped at two, possibly four planes, but the likelihood is that only two will remain. I do not expect two more planes to arrive soon," Stoyanov said.

The minister was in the Yambol region to discuss plans for the development of the Kabile military formation with local authorities. He met with Regional Governor Georgi Chalakov, Yambol Mayor Valentin Revanski and Tundzha Mayor Stancho Stavrev.

The talks focused on the parameters of the planned project and coordination between central and local authorities during its implementation.
