Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu has opened up about his health, revealing that he has lost nearly half of his hearing in his left ear.
Mwakideu said he discovered the problem after seeking medical attention, having initially believed that his ear was blocked by wax. Tests showed that he had lost about 45 to 50 per cent of his hearing in the affected ear.
In an emotional video shared on his YouTube platform, the radio veteran opened up on being diagnosed with mild to moderate sensorineural hearing loss, a condition involving damage to the inner ear that affects the transmission of sound signals to the brain.
“I thought wax zimejaa kwa maskio, so decided to go to the hospital for the very first time in my life,” Mwakideu said.
