The five-day Varuna Yagam Sahita Sahasra Ghatabhishekam performed by the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam concluded on Tuesday (August 11) with the conduct of Purnahuti by vedic priests. The ritual commenced on August 7 2026, with the resolve of ensuring adequate rainfall, bountiful harvests, and the prosperity of the State.During the Purnahuti ceremony, offerings such as coconuts, various aromatic substances, and new garments were ceremoniously offered into the sacred fire pit (Homa Gundam) in accordance with scriptural traditions. Throughout the five-day event, various rituals and recitations were performed daily including Rishyashringa Japam, Varunanuka Parayanam, Varuna Japam, Bhagavata and Virata Parva Parayanam, and Panchakshari Japam.Additionally, rituals such as Yagashala Pravesham (entry into the sacrificial hall), Shiva Sankalpam, Ritvigvaranam (selection of priests), Kalasha Sthapana (installation of sacred pots), Rudra Homam, and other Havanams were conducted.The Purnahuti was attended by Srisailam Temple Trust Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu, Executive Officer M.
