Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine will continue carrying out long-range strikes against targets in Russia, arguing that attacks deep inside Russian territory are intended to demonstrate the need to end the war.
Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had recently struck a facility belonging to Russia's oil and petrochemical industry more than 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine, bringing Siberia within the range of Kyiv's precision weapons.
"We are celebrating another achievement of our Ukrainian defense forces: another facility of the Russian oil refining industry was hit, and at a considerable distance - over 2,500 kilometers. It is located in Tobolsk, in Siberia. Now this region is also within the range of our precision strikes," Zelensky said, according to Ukrinform.
He praised the Ukrainian forces involved in the attack and thanked them for what he described as the accuracy of the strike. Zelensky also warned that further attacks would follow.
"There will be more Ukrainian precision strikes to show Russia and the Russian people that peace is needed," he said.
