Every developer's path comes with its unique set of hurdles. When I first started diving deeper into modern software architectures and generative AI, I quickly realized that relying solely on cloud-hosted APIs had its limits—ranging from data privacy concerns and latency issues to unexpected usage costs.
The turning point was deciding to pivot toward local setups and self-hosted environments. I faced massive optimization challenges, figuring out how to squeeze maximum performance out of standard hardware, dealing with resource bottlenecks, and refining local pipeline execution.
