Two drones were observed flying over a German military base in the western part of the country, near the Belgian border, in the latest of a string of such incidents.
The drones were spotted at the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) base in Mechernich at around 10 p.m. on 6 August, officials said.

Patriot missile site
Military police were deployed to the site, before the investigation was handed off to Euskirchen civilian police, said a spokesperson for the Bundeswehr Joint Force Command.
