National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and MP Fadiel Adams is unlikely to testify at the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday after evidence leaders received his sworn affidavit and supporting documents only hours before his scheduled appearance.
Adams is due to appear under subpoena at 9.30am, but the Commission’s evidence leaders are expected to request a postponement to allow time for consultations on his evidence.
The evidence leaders only received Adams’s affidavit and related annexures after 9pm on Monday, according to the Commission.
Adams’s appearance has attracted significant public interest, with questions expected over his alleged access to Westville Prison, Crime Intelligence information, alleged secret “slush funds” and his dealings with police investigators.
