At least 111 people have died and 87 have been injured after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, bringing down buildings across several cities and leaving people trapped beneath rubble.
The earthquake struck at 07:34 local time, with its epicentre near San José del Palmar in the Chocó region, according to the US Geological Survey.
The USGS placed the quake at a depth of about 107 kilometres. Tremors were felt across Colombia and in Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama.
