L-R: Teach Nigeria Fellow, Ms Bunmi Rotimi, and Advocacy Consultant, Breathe Life Foundation, Mrs Mojoyinola Adewuyi, with a cross-section of students at the Cleggs Girls High School, Surulere, Lagos, after a respiratory health education session on July 23, 2026.
The Breathe Life Foundation has sensitised students on respiratory health and the common triggers of respiratory diseases, stressing the importance of prevention in protecting lung health.
The foundation noted that exposure to dust, smoke, air pollution, tobacco smoke, allergens, and other environmental irritants can worsen respiratory symptoms and increase the risk of breathing-related illnesses.
BLF stated this during a respiratory health awareness session for over 200 senior students of Cleggs Girls High School, Surulere, Lagos State, in partnership with Teach Nigeria Fellow, Ms Bunmi Rotimi, according to a statement made available to PUNCH Healthwise.
The session equipped students aged 15–19 years with practical knowledge about the risks associated with smoking, vaping, and shisha, while challenging the misconception that shisha is a safer alternative to cigarettes or other substances.
