The General Overseer of El-Buba Outreach Ministries, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has criticised Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yahya Jingir, over his reported reference to Christians as “infidels” and comments supporting a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Jingir had, in a video circulating on social media, reportedly said Nigerians who opposed a Muslim-Muslim ticket should leave the country, arguing that Nigeria belonged to Muslims.
Reacting to the remarks, El-Buba accused the cleric of promoting religious division at a time when northern Nigeria is battling insecurity, poverty, banditry, drug abuse, criminality and the displacement of communities.
In a video shared on his X account on Monday, the cleric said he was speaking with a “very serious, heavy heart,” arguing that religious leaders should be focused on promoting peaceful coexistence.
