Shares of energy companies rallied alongside oil futures.

U.S.-traded futures gained $3.95 per barrel, or 5.1% to $82.13 as Iran demanded concessions from the U.S. before allowing the Strait of Hormuz to fully reopen.

The United Arab Emirates' natural-gas company Adnoc Gas said it would invest over $8 billion to grow its production capacity, just months after the country's departure from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries​ removed restrictions.
