Sir Rod Stewart pulled out of another concert at short notice as organisers say he was undergoing an "unforeseen" medical procedure21:14, 10 Aug 2026Sir Rod Stewart has sparked fresh fears for his health after pulling out of another concert. The legendary crooner, 81, has cancelled another concert at short notice due to an "unforeseen medical issue".‌It's the second time in as many months his health has caused him to miss a show. The latest comes as he pulled out of his gig at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati last night. Organisers confirmed the Maggie May singer was undergoing an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure".‌A statement released by the venue read: "Due to an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention, Rod Stewart’s performance tonight in Cincinnati has been postponed.‌"Rescheduling is currently underway, with additional information to follow on Tuesday. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date. Rod is expected to make a quick recovery and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati."One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: "Hope he's ok," alongside a praying hands emoji.‌Earlier in the summer, he cancelled another performance because of health reasons. Doctors diagnosed the star with an acute upper respiratory infection. It later resulted in laryngitis, meaning he was unable to sing. However, despite his ailments, Rod was spotted a day later in the stands at Boston Stadium watching Scotland secure a victory against Haiti in the World Cup 2026.He said of the incident shortly afterwards: "No, I got an awful... I really shouldn't have gone to the Haiti game. You know, I had to cancel a show the night before because I just had no voice left. But the truth is, Jim, I wasn't going to let my two sons down."‌Explaining his reason, he went on: "I promised them since they were born that we were going to go to a World Cup. And this is the first one that's come about. And it wasn't a good look, I admit, but I'm going to have to just take the stick. So I did it for the boys."He also paused a gig earlier this summer to use an oxygen tank after nearly fainting on stage. Last week Rod also cancelled a show at the last minute, but this time it wasn't health related. Just hours before the show was supposed to start in Niagara Falls, the musician had to disappoint fans.In an Instagram Stories statement, his team said: "Important information about tonight's show. Due to a mechanical fault with the aircraft's landing gear, Rod Stewart is regretfully unable to travel to Niagara Falls and must postpone tonight's performance at Fallsview Casino Resort. Rod is deeply disappointed and apologises to fans for the inconvenience."Article continues belowLike this story?
