President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the world to take joint action to prevent North Korea from expanding its involvemet in the war against Ukraine in order to gain combat experience.
He made these remarks in a video address, according to Ukrinform.
"This is the first time in Russian history that they no longer have a secure strategic rear. And this is the first time they cannot wage war without reinforcements from North Korea. They are now preparing to station an additional contingent of North Koreans on their territory. Imagine—they’ve received additional ballistic missiles from North Korea. And everyone in the world needs to understand what this means. This isn’t just about the lives of people in Ukraine, nor is it just about the threats to us specifically. Ballistic missiles from North Korea, along with their other weapons, are being improved through collaboration with Russia. The more North Korean strikes there are here in Ukraine—in Europe—the more their missiles and troops are deployed, and the more they correct their shortcomings and ignorance, the greater the subsequent dangers will be for Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, and other countries in the region,” Zelensky stated.
