Fishermen of Kasimedu staged a one-day strike on Monday urging Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to initiate measures to retrieve seven boats belonging to fishermen from Chennai that have been impounded in Andhra Pradesh. The boats were seized by the police from the neighbouring State over 60 days ago and have been kept in the Juvvaladinne harbour.The Kasimedu fishing community leaders said the sale of fish from Andhra Pradesh should not be allowed in the city.
