The draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup has been completed, with 11 Premier League sides, including Chelsea, Newcastle and Leeds, entering the competition19:31, 10 Aug 2026Updated 19:35, 10 Aug 2026Chelsea will begin their Carabao Cup campaign against Luton Town in the second round of the competition. Xabi Alonso has taken charge of the Blues following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign and will hope to avoid a slip-up against Jack Wilshere's League One side.‌Newcastle, who won the competition in 2025, have been drawn against West Brom at St James' Park. Leeds have been drawn away to fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest, while Everton face a trip to Championship opponents Preston.‌Coventry City will travel down to the south west to play the winner of Monday night's clash between Plymouth and Exeter City. Tottenham have a rare London derby against Charlton, newly-promoted Ipswich play Leicester, now of League One, while West Ham have to face fellow Championship side Southampton.‌The fixtures are split into north and south groups and will take place in the week commencing Monday, August 24.
