Crude contracts rose by around $3 around midday Monday, after Iran sought billions in U.S. payments and the removal of American troops in the Persian Gulf in exchange for allowing the free flow of shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

At noon ET, September NYMEX West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up around $2.85 to $81/bbl, and October WTI was also $2.85 higher to $80/bbl.

London-based October ICE Brent was up $2.95 to $86.50/bbl, while November Brent was $3.10 higher to $84.75/bbl.

Both oil benchmarks are on track to finish higher for a third session, following last week's losses as fighting in the Middle East appeared to have briefly subsided.

September NYMEX ULSD was up around 27.75cts to $4.1825/gal, and October ULSD was 24.10cts higher to $4.0645/gal. September RBOB was up 12.75cts to $3.1125/gal, and October RBOB was 11.45cts higher to $2.8535/gal.
