The British tobacco company employs about 25,800 people globally and has outlined a plan to achieve £320 million in annual savings by 2030

Imperial Brands Plc is preparing to cut thousands of jobs across the United States and Europe as part of a broad cost-reduction effort, according to Bloomberg.

The British maker of Winston cigarettes employed about 25,800 people globally at the end of 2025. Notifications to employees at ITG Brands — which operates across the U.S., the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico — are set to begin Aug. 19, according to Bloomberg. The company has separately engaged the appropriate European Union bodies regarding workforce reductions there, a process that remains subject to consultation.
