Discussions regarding the acquisition of a controlling interest by Alalshikh’s Lion Sport ended despite receiving approval from both the Independent Football Regulator and the EFL last week. Derby County confirmed they are now “off the market” and will continue to operate under the loyal support of current owners Clowes Developments. Alalshikh explained his decision on social media, stating that the prolonged regulatory approval process left insufficient time to adequately prepare the team for the upcoming season.
