A Nigerian-born United States Army soldier has made an emotional public appeal to President Donald Trump, pleading for an exemption from the administration's visa restrictions so her critically ill daughter can travel from Nigeria to the U.S. for urgent medical treatment.
In a tearful video shared on TikTok, seen by SaharaReporters on Monday, the woman, who identified herself as Uzoamaka, said she had exhausted official channels and was turning to social media as her "last resort" to save her daughter's life.
According to her, she has been separated from her daughter for a decade while building her life in the U.S., where she now serves in the U.S. Army and is an American citizen.
Holding back tears throughout the video, Uzoamaka said her daughter had completed all the required U.S. immigration processes but remained stranded in Nigeria because of the current visa restrictions.
