Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation HADIN KAI have repelled an attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on a military base in Gajiram, Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, when a large number of terrorists reportedly launched an assault on the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in an attempt to overrun the troops’ position.
According to a statement issued by the Headquarters of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, the troops responded with heavy fire and forced the terrorists to retreat after inflicting casualties on them.
