Brazilian defender Jacy Maranhao has not scored many goals — just nine across his senior career — so you could understand his excitement at finding the back of the net in Brazilian side Coritiba’s 2-1 league win against Chapecoense.Unfortunately, the club captain took his celebrations a little too far.The hosts were 1-0 up just before half-time when the 29-year-old Jacy headed home from a cross, then retrieved the ball from the net, stuffed it up his shirt and raced towards the corner flag. His ecstasy turned to agony when he vaulted over an advertising hoarding to continue his celebrations in front of Coritiba fans — only to fall straight through the opening for the stairs that lead to the dressing rooms at Estadio Couto Pereira. The trap door is usually kept closed during games, but opens just before half-time.
